Location
Casa Luna is in a gated, Canadian owned and operated resort community located forty minutes south of Manta, Ecuador’s booming port city. The scenic drive to Manta includes a trip through the Pacoche rainforest, where you can buy roasted and ground organic coffee by the side of the road.
Casa Luna is also situated 16 minutes north of the oceanside cabaña restaurants of Puerto Cayo, and 16 minutes south of Pile, home to the world-famous Panama hat.
In the mood for fine dining? Try Bocavaldivia Restaurant, 10 minutes south at the Tanusas Resort. You may have seen Chef Rodrigo Pacheco on Netflix’s “The Final Table“.
How about some deep-sea fishing? Book your expedition at Rositatours in Puerto Lopez, a funky little fishing community 30 minutes from Puerto Cayo.

Beach
Casa Luna is a five-minute stroll to one of the most intoxicating private beaches in all of Ecuador.
A wide sandy shore slopes gently into the sea and there are no rocks. You can walk for hours in either direction, but rarely encounter a soul.
Warm, waist-high water at low-tide extends one-half kilometre from the beachhead. When the tide comes in, long lines of impressive breakers are perfect for body boarding and kitesurfing. Or help the local fishermen bring in their catch! They will gladly share their bounty in exchange.
Because of its shallow depth, the ocean water remains warm even during the cooler months. When the weather is hot and sunny, it is deep blue and clear to the bottom.
There is nothing like a day at the beach when you live at Casa Luna. You’ll return home tanned, relaxed, and ready for a social evening around your pool.

Community
Casa Luna is part of a larger community of Canadian expats, retirees, and vacationers. Our closest neighbours are from Quebec and Alberta.
Languages spoken on-site are English, French, and Spanish. Francophones and Anglophones often converse with each other in Spanish.
Common areas include pools, tennis courts, children’s play structures, a stage for performances and public meetings, and a FIFA-standard futbol stadium.
Local futbol teams play at the stadium. It’s a real treat to watch Ecuador’s national obsession in the shaded bleachers with an ice-cold beverage at your side.
